Depending on your vehicle requirements, oil changes should be done every 3,000 miles to get the most out of your vehicles engine. When checking your engines oil it should be a light brown and slightly transparent in color and at the appropriate line on your dipstick. If your engine oil is dark brown or black or not on within the executable lines on the dipstick then you have waited too long and could have potentially hurt your engine.
